As the school year winds down it's a good time to take a look back at all the things you child has accomplished in the past year.  If you're attending your child's graduation this year, then no doubt you're reflecting on the growth your child has seen in the last several years.  Your child has practiced writing letters, adding numbers, and reading stories.  He may have written papers, painted a painting, or learned about living organisms.

One Kindergarten class got the chance to learn about sharing with children overseas!  Their teacher invited students and parents to bring money and/or small items to fill shoeboxes for Operation Christmas Child.  One student put in his very own pencil that he had just earned as an award!  Once everything was collected they were able to fill 10 shoeboxes!  If you look at the picture below you can see that they actually ran out of shoeboxes and had to use plastic sacks until they could get more!

This Kindergarten class filled 10 shoeboxes for Operation Christmas Child!

The class wrote a letter for each box and put in several pictures that the kindergarteners had drawn themselves.  After the boxes were shipped the students learned about some of the countries where their shoeboxes may go.  It was important to their teacher that they learn about how other children around the world live--even things we might not think about, like transportation.
